Discovering What is Being Researched

Research is an integral part of the Missouri S&T experience, offering students a rich and distinctive academic environment. Across all departments, students have the opportunity to engage in meaningful scholarly work alongside renowned faculty — developing critical thinking and analytical skills while gaining valuable real-world experience.

From our internationally recognized science and engineering programs to our strong contributions in business, psychology, and communication, S&T provides a wide range of hands-on research opportunities.  Undergraduate students work in state-of-the-art laboratories, onsite foundry, experimental mine, and even our campus nuclear reactor.

Beyond campus, students can participate in off-site research at field stations or join faculty-led excursions — exploring natural environments and applying knowledge in dynamic, real-world settings that inspire curiosity and discovery.

S&T encourages interdisciplinary research opportunities.  Giving students the opportunity to see how their program integrates into a completely different field/area.  So wherever your interests may lie, a wide range of research opportunities awaits — ready to fuel your curiosity and expand your potential.
